Amanda Burns Selected for NYSBA Hon. Judith S. Kaye Scholarship

Ward Greenberg partner Amanda Burns has been selected as a recipient of the 2021 Honorable Judith S. Kaye Commercial and Federal Litigation Scholarship by the Commercial and Federal Litigation Section of the New York State Bar Association. The scholarship is awarded to up to five female litigators to cover the cost of tuition to attend an upcoming session of the section’s Commercial Litigation Academy. The goal of the Scholarship is to help increase the number of women prepared to first chair in large commercial cases. The award will be presented at an April 22, 2021 program in the Ceremonial Courtroom at the Southern District of New York.

The Commercial Litigation Academy brings together a panel of distinguished commercial litigators, in-house counsel and judges to provide valuable insights on federal and state commercial litigation – from choosing the proper venue through the appellate process. With a particular focus on litigating commercial cases efficiently, attendants receive training that enhances participant’s skills in all aspects of commercial litigation, from drafting pleadings and seeking injunctive relief, alternative dispute resolution options, disclosure and discovery (including expert discovery and e-Discovery), through trial and appeal.
