Harold A. Kurland, Partner
Practice Focus & Experience
Mr. Kurland’s practice all relates to civil litigation, primarily contract and commercial litigation, construction, mediation and arbitration, and professional liability defense. He has extensive jury trial experience, and has tried over 50 cases to verdict in jurisdictions across New York State, in California (Superior Court, LA County), and in Connecticut (U.S. District Court, New Haven). He also has briefed and argued cases in the New York Court of Appeals, the First and Fourth Departments of the Appellate Division, the Second Circuit Court of Appeals, and the Western, Northern, and Southern Districts of New York. Mr. Kurland also has substantial experience as a neutral, and has arbitrated many cases and mediated more than 90 disputes.
Mr. Kurland is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers. He was a partner of Ward Norris Heller & Reidy LLP from May 2000, when he helped establish the firm, until April 2010, when it became Ward Greenberg. From 1985 until April 2000, he was a partner of Nixon Peabody LLP and its predecessor, Nixon, Hargrave, Devans & Doyle LLP, which he joined as an associate in 1976.
